Now in its fourth year, the Concordia International Piano Course presents an unrivalled opportunity for young pianists to develop their skills at the piano and confidence on the concert platform, encouraged and nurtured by three outstanding tutors: Jeremy Carter, Victor Sangiorgio, and Katharine Lam. This year we are delighted to welcome back John Lill who will give the celebrity piano recital and a masterclass the following day.
Originally located at Pangbourne College, the course moved to Cheltenham College which, from December 2016, became an all-Steinway school. Following the huge sucess of the 2017 course - and in response to the warm feedback we received - we plan to deliver an even more exciting and varied programme in 2018. The slightly longer course will allow both for more indivdual lesson time and for more diverse elements to be included.
Cheltenham College is ideally located in the heart of the town and boasts two concert halls, each equipped with a new Steinway Model D concert grand. The music department is equipped with three Steinway Model A grands that will be used for individual tuition. A number of new Steinway-designed Essex pianos will be available for participants’ practice.
The course runs from Tuesday 3rd to Saturday 7th April and includes individual tuition, masterclasses, talks, a quick study competition, a ticket to John Lill's recital and an invitation to perform in the closing Participants’ Recital, which will be recorded and copies given to each performer. The course fee (£525) also includes full-board accommodation in single rooms.
